Many business owners and managing directors in the electrical industry started off as an apprentice and worked their way up – you can too! When you’re in charge of the business you’ll be responsible for every area of the company: finance, customer services, sales, staff welfare, health and safety, legal and environmental.

It can be challenging but it’s also very rewarding – you could be heading up a small business of 3-10 employees, or managing a national company with over 250 staff. With an apprenticeship under your belt, there are lots of opportunities to progress in the industry and take the route you wish to follow.

At this level you could be:

Managing Director
Chief Executive
